they were very scared of what comes out from their mouth isn't what they'd practiced. they were very worry and afraid that what they will say something that is vice versa from what they've did. so whats wrong with word and action, why are they so related ? why do they so concern about it?
this might look kind of bizzare to some of us, because sometimes we dont even care for what we say. but I hope when im going further with this topic, we will be more ponder about what comes out from our mouth and be more alert on what were about to say.
theres a story about a muhaddith named Hazrat Ali bin Ma'bad.
He lives in a rent house, 1 day he wrotes something on the rented house wall, after he wrotes them down he thinks that in order to dry out what he wrotes he needs soil . so he used some of the soil in the rent house. he thinks "this is a rent house, this is a rent house and it will be abandoned, afterall im not going to take the land" . so then he said "why not im using the soil!, im just using some of the soil, its not a big deal" , later on he used the soil and rub it on the wall.
suddenly when the night comes he dreamed someone standing somewhere and said "later, when the day of judgment comes, you will know what is the consiquences of the word "its not a big deal".
so the story tells us not to easily saying the things that maybe seems small but actually its not.maybe because,
sometimes we cant see the consiquences right infront of us because Allah didnt punish us emmidiately when we commited sins.we cant see the punishment yet, Allah wont punish us directly with what we had commited, He didnt immediately send a plane to crush on us if we dont pray for 1 solah.
yet it happened before when the jahiliyyah being an extrimis and that time Allah immediately turn the land upside down. the proof is, there is a dead lake in this world. but now, its just for us to take lesson and ponder for what we've done. doesnt Allah very concern and care about us?
so we cant expect that to happen in our time right? but he did gives us the reminder to take lesson from what had happened. so this is a lesson and reminder so we wont get along with the dunya. so Allah gives us the opportunity to repent as much as we want and use our age wisely and praise to Allah.
Allah said"you are responsible for everything that you've said". so each single word is matter. and Allah do count what we've said. He didnt care what our status in dunya, he didnt care how many children we have, as long as we say the thing that are not suppose to, it is our responsibility in here and here after . so watch out, if we want to say, say something that we do :)
Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Mengapa kamu memperkatakan apa yang kamu tidak melakukannya! Amat besar kebenciannya di sisi Allah - kamu memperkatakan sesuatu yang kamu tidak melakukannya. (As-Saff 61:2-3)
